Vere Sandals are made in the U.S.A. with a mix of recycled and recyclable materials. Each model has been designed and produced to eliminate nearly all waste in the production process.

The AL is the quintessential leather sandal, featuring a clean, classic, fullgrain leather strap with understated embossed logo. The lower profile footbed is topped with the same fullgrain leather, and, like all Vere styles, comprised of multiple layers and densities of EVA. The super-soft top layer, just below the leather topsheet, provides instant comfort and molds to the shape of your foot, while the high-quality, high-rebound, middle layers provide "spring" in your step and incredible durability. The anatomically correct arch is placed perfectly to provide support just where it's needed - every time. Each footbed has a heat-embossed Vere logo in the heel, and is atop a grippy rubber outsole with logo tread.

The AL is available in Dark brown and Bronze brown.

what we can, when we can

We know we're a long way from a fully sustainable or closed loop sandal, but it doesn't mean we shouldn't keep trying to do better. With that in mind, we've designed our production process from the ground up with the goal of eliminating waste. We use recycled polyester in our straps, and recycled content in all of our EVA and rubber compounds. We buy our EVA cut to shape, so the supplier can recycle the excess into future batches. Our adhesives are water based. What little waste we create is recycled into future sandals. Since we manufacture domestically and ship locally we're able to eliminate a significant amount of packaging and shipping waste.
We think there are ways to improve every step of the process, and we strive to implement them at every opportunity. Working with local universities, research centers, and businesses, we look forward to making ever more environmentally sound sandals as we move forward, without sacrificing the fit, quality, and comfort you should expect.
In that spirit, we'll gladly take back a pair of our sandals at the end of their life cycle. We'll remove the straps so they can be recycled toward new polyester thread, and we'll make sure the rest of the sandal is ground up and downcycled responsibly - and stays out of a landfill.
